Description
TEC Skill Set Fast Setting Patch is a latex modified smooth surface patch. Use for patching smoothing and filling holes, cracks, voids and depressions in concrete and approved wood underlatments before the installation of floor coverings. Patch 1/2" (12 mm) down to a featheredge. Flooring can be installed in just 45 minutes.

Suitable Substrates
When properly prepared, suitable substrates include:

- Exterior grade plywood, C-C (plugged) or better
Storage
Store in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. Do not store open containers.

Limitations
Only for interior use. Do not use where there is hydrostatic pressure or excessive moisture conditions. Not for use as a final wear surface or to patch over gypsum surfaces, sealed concrete, epoxy terrazzo, tempered hardboard, particle board, strip wood flooring, over heavily cushioned flooring or perimeter bonded flooring. Lauan plywood is an unacceptable substrate for the installation of resilient, ceramic or marble tile. Not recommended for use over expansion or control joints. Not for use over vinyl composition tile (VCT), embossed resilient floor coverings or over tacky or pressure sensitive adhesive residue.

IMPORTANT: Sanding releases dust harmful to lungs. Use appropriate respiratory protection to avoid breathing dust. *Flooring installation after application is dependent on thickness, drying conditions, and type of flooring.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be structurally sound, dry and free from oil, grease, dust, loose or peeling paint, sealers, floor finishes, curing compounds or any contaminant that would prevent a good bond. For installation over acceptable adhesive residue, remove adhesive by scraping until all that remains is a thin transparent layer of adhesive. Concrete and cementitious substrates must be fully cured and free of any hydrostatic pressure or excessive moisture. All surface protrusions must be removed by sanding, scraping or chipping. Substrate temperature should be a minimum of 43°F (6°C) during application and air temperature maintained above 50° (10°C). DO NOT cover existing building expansion or control joints. Remove all dust by vacuuming. Not recommended for use over expansion or control joints.
TEC® Skill Set™ Fast Setting Patch can be installed over new or moist concrete with RH of 95% or 15 lbs per 1,000 ft2 per 24 hours. For moisture sensitive floor coverings refer to the finished floor manufacturer’s specifications on moisture limitations.
Instructions for Mixing
Mix only as much TEC Skill Set Fast Setting Patch as can be used in 10-15 minutes. For best results, maintain all tiling materials, substrates, room and adhesives at 50°-70°F (10-21°C) for 24 hours before and 48 hours after installation. Avoid breathing dust and contact with eyes and skin. Avoid using high speed mixing, not to exceed 300 rpm, to prevent entraining air. Add powder to liquid for ease of mixing.
In a clean mixing container, slowly add product to clean, cool, water as specified in the chart below.

Mix material for 2 minutes to a smooth, lump-free consistency. For smaller amounts use a ratio of 3 parts powder to 1 part water. Use immediately.
Application
Immediately after mixing, work TEC Skill Set Fast Setting Patch into the void to be filled with a flat steel trowel and then finish to a level surface to the required smoothness. The working time for this product is 10-15 minutes depending upon the temperature. High temperature will shorten the working time. For repairs greater than 1/2" (12.7 mm) in thickness, you will need two applications, allowing the first application to set before applying the second. Do not exceed a total thickness of 1" (25 mm). Do not overwork the product.
Drying Time
TEC Skill Set Fast Setting Patch is fast drying and can accept foot traffic and the installation of most floor covering materials within 30-45 minutes. Protect from excessive heat or drafty conditions during drying period.
Clean-up
Wash tools, hands and equipment with warm soapy water while material is still fresh.
